What Moves the Price Up or Down

  • Size and weight of the door. A single-car door and a wide double door need springs of different strength, and an insulated door is heavier than a thin steel one. That is why springs and cables are listed per part rather than per job.
  • How many parts are worn. A door with two springs has put the same number of cycles on each. When one breaks, we quote replacing just that spring and replacing both, so you can choose. The same goes for rollers, which are sold as a set.
  • Hardware you pick. Some parts come in more than one grade, such as nylon rollers that run quieter than plain steel ones. We explain the difference and the price of each before you choose.
  • Damage found during the visit. A door that came off its track can also have bent hinges or a creased bottom section. Anything extra is shown to you and priced before it is fitted.

How You Get Your Price

  1. You call or send the callback form, with a photo of the door if you can.
  2. The technician checks the springs, cables, rollers, track and opener.
  3. You get the price of each needed part from this list, plus any opener or panel figure.
  4. You decide. Nothing is taken apart until you agree.
  5. After the repair, the door is balanced and tested with you watching.

Repair or Replace?

A repair usually wins when the sections are sound and only the moving parts are worn. When several sections are cracked, the panels for your model are no longer made, or the repair list keeps growing, a new garage door can make more sense. In that case you see both options side by side and choose. The diagnostic visit is $0 when you have us complete the repair.

Pricing Questions

Why are springs and cables priced per part?

A door runs on one or two springs and two lift cables, so the count changes the total. This page gives the price of each part, and the technician adds them up for your door before any work starts.

How close can a price given on the phone get?

We can tell you where the job starts using this list. The exact figure needs a look at the door, because its size, its weight and any other worn parts change the total. A photo sent with the callback form helps us prepare.

Why does the opener line say the price is set later?

Opener parts are made for a particular brand and model, and the fault can sit in the gear, the circuit board, the sensors or the wiring. The technician reads the model label, finds the fault and prices the repair before fitting anything.

What if a new door costs less in the long run?

Then we say so and show you both numbers. New doors are measured at the visit and priced separately, and our new door installation page explains the styles and what the work involves.
